Computing 2
The Year 2 Information Communication Technology (ICT) course is a 24-week program designed to equip Senior High School students with essential 21st-century digital skills. It prepares learners for further education and future careers. The curriculum is built around two main strands: ICTs in Society and Network Systems for Transmitting Information.

The course is divided into five main sections:

Basics of Spreadsheets (Weeks 1–8)
Focuses on practical Microsoft Excel skills, including workbook management, complex formulas (e.g., SUM, IF), data visualization using charts, and data manipulation through sorting and filtering.

Technology in Everyday Life (Weeks 9–12)
Students examine the impact of emerging technologies in key sectors such as healthcare (telemedicine), education (Learning Management Systems & AI), finance (fintech), and governance.

Web Navigation & Features (Weeks 13–16)
Covers effective use of the World Wide Web, including URL structures, browser navigation (on both mobile and desktop), and analysis of website layouts and multimedia content.

Computer Networks & Communication Protocols (Weeks 17–20)
Explores network types (Client/Server vs. Peer-to-Peer), data communication models (OSI and TCP/IP), and common protocols (HTTP, FTP, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.).

Computer Network Security & Risks (Weeks 21–24)
Addresses digital threats such as malware, cyberbullying, and spoofing, while teaching protective measures including firewalls, antivirus software, and security updates.

Pedagogical and Assessment Approach

Teaching Style: Emphasis on hands-on, experiential learning using digital tools and interactive tutorials. Teachers are encouraged to use mixed-ability and gender-sensitive group work to foster collaboration and critical thinking.

Assessment Methods:
Individual portfolios (weekly summaries and reflections)
Group projects (e.g., creating advanced Excel workbooks)
Formal examinations (mid-semester and end-of-semester)
Nine specific assessments recorded in the national Student Transcript Portal (STP)

The curriculum aligns with Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy, balancing practical skills with higher-order thinking (analysis, evaluation, and creation).
